Ak Gıda approved to export labneh and fresh cheese to EU countries

Ak Gıda, the largest milk and dairy products company in Turkey with six production facilities and a daily milk processing capacity of 5 thousand tons, has been approved to export to the European Union from its Sakarya production facility. Thus, Ak Gıda will be able to bring its İçim branded labneh and fresh cheese varieties to European consumers.

İçim milk and dairy products producer Ak Gıda’s application to start exporting labneh and fresh cheese to the European Union (EU) from its production facility in Sakarya was approved by the EU commission following the successful completion of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry inspections.

Despite the negative effects of the pandemic, Turkey’s exports increased by a record 16 percent in December 2020 compared to the same month of the previous year, which is a very pleasing development. It is important that this momentum achieved by our country continues in the coming months. As Ak Gıda, we aim to grow our business by increasing our share in global exports with our high value-added production in line with our 2021 roadmap and at the same time contribute to the national economy. First and foremost, we aim to grow in Europe’s ethnic markets, introduce İçim quality and taste to European consumers and gain a share in their daily consumption habits. By obtaining the approval certificate for the export of our labneh and fresh cheese products to European Union countries, we are one step closer to our goal.”

Ak Gıda exports more than 20 thousand tons of products from milk to cheese, ayran to pudding to more than 30 countries, including the Caucasus, Egypt, North Africa and the Middle East. Ak Gıda, one of the first companies to export to China in its sector, continues to expand its export network to distant markets.
